Our work goes beyond compliance - helping businesses plan, grow and operate with precision and control. From IFRS 16 IBR calculations and financial modelling to strategic planning and performance improvement, we turn technical analysis into measurable results.
Our in-house consultancy supports decision-making across finance, operations and strategy, strengthening business models, improving efficiency and building sustainable long-term value.
The aforementioned, may sound complex but simply put if you're wanting a business owner to business owner/management conversation - Let's talk and you can find out for yourself - our abilities, skillset and guidances around maximising your business.
Our business advisory services help companies plan, scale and perform more effectively. We combine financial expertise with practical, commercially minded support so you can make optimal decision and focus on running your business.
We assist with:
We work closely with business owners who value straight-talking advice and measurable results. Whether it’s helping a transport business through outsourced financial and collections support, or guiding entrepreneurs as they scale, our focus is always on tangible outcomes.
Our role goes beyond numbers. We strategise with personality, vision and build a business that runs profitably and sustainably.
Over time, that’s how we’ve built lasting relationships; grounded in trust, responsiveness and results.
When the interest rate implicit in a lease isn’t available, IFRS 16 and UK GAAP require you (the lessee) to use the incremental borrowing rate (IBR) to to discount future lease payments (measure lease liabilities).
Getting this right affects your reported lease liability, right-of-use asset value and the P&L impact.
We take the guesswork out of IBR calculations. By reviewing your borrowing profile, lease terms and current market data, we arrive at a rate your auditors can sign off with confidence.
Services include:
Late payments, unresolved invoices and weak debtor records can quietly drain a business. DMP Accountants supports limited companies with practical finance support designed to improve cash flow, strengthen internal controls and recover outstanding balances in a professional and structured way.
Our work can cover invoice reviews, debtor ledger reconciliation, payment follow-up, settlement discussions, pre-action correspondence, preparation for County Court claims and support with High Court enforcement where appropriate. We can also assist with debtor checks, solvency reviews and documenting each stage clearly for accounting, tax and audit purposes.
In one case, we supported a transport business with the review and recovery of approximately £400,000 in historic customer balances. This involved reviewing invoice records, reconciling account issues, supporting structured follow-up and improving the finance process around aged debt.
This type of work is not about aggressive debt collection. It is about helping business owners regain control, protect cash flow and put a clear process around money owed to the business.
We work with an independent corporate finance specialist to deliver comprehensive advisory and due diligence services for owner-managed and mid-market businesses, typically with deal values between £1 million and £100 million.
This partnership allows our clients to access high-level transaction support from early-stage deal preparation to completion - through a team we know and trust.
DMP Accountants acts as your first point of contact, ensuring the work remains seamless, coordinated, and aligned with your overall financial strategy.
Corporate finance services include:
If a transaction opportunity arises, we can introduce you to our corporate finance partner and stay involved (if necessary) throughout the process to provide ongoing input
Practical business-owner-to-business-owner advice for people running, growing or improving their own company.
This session is designed for business owners who want clear, commercially minded guidance without unnecessary jargon. It is not just about the numbers, it is about understanding where the business is now, what is holding it back (the constraints, the bottlenecks), and what practical steps could improve cash flow, profit, systems, pricing or decision-making.
As accountants and business owners ourselves, we understand that most business challenges are not isolated. Pricing affects cash flow. Systems affect time. Bookkeeping affects tax planning. Poor processes affect growth. The aim of this session is to give you a useful outside perspective and help you think more clearly about the next stage of your business.
Typical areas covered can include:
This is ideal for limited company directors, sole traders and growing businesses who want straightforward advice from someone who understands both accounts and the realities of running a business.
A practical review of your systems, processes and client journey so your business can run more smoothly and scale with less friction.
As a business grows, small inefficiencies can become expensive. Slow onboarding, unclear processes, messy bookkeeping flows, weak website journeys or disjointed systems can all create wasted time, missed opportunities and unnecessary admin.
Our Growth & Systems Review looks at how your business operates behind the scenes. The focus is on making your day-to-day processes clearer, more efficient and more commercially useful. This can include reviewing how clients find you, how they make contact, how they are onboarded, how work is tracked, and how your bookkeeping and reporting systems support decision-making.
Typical areas covered can include:
This review is suitable for business owners who feel their business is working, but not as smoothly as it should. The aim is to help you build better systems, improve client experience and create a more organised foundation for growth.
We work with CEOs, CFOs, finance directors, business owners and senior decision-makers across the UK and internationally - including government bodies, councils and institutional clients.
Our advisory work goes beyond audit or compliance. We help organisations strengthen governance, improve operational efficiency and optimise financial performance through:
Whether the goal is to refine internal controls, scale operations, or improve board-level reporting; we deliver the insight and implementation capability to make it happen.
